Writer

Judi has written plays, poetry, graphic memoir and short fiction.

Her play, The Mad Women of England explored women’s mental health in Edwardian England and was featured in the States of Mind festival at the Soho Theatre.

I Dream in Orange, her short story based on memory and fantasy, was selected for inclusion in the City of Stories 2 anthology published by Spread the Word in 2018.   

She is currently writing the libretto for The Magic Lantern opera, collaborating with Omar Shahryar and Opera Schmopera to take opera and magic lanterns into schools and youth groups.

Creative Writing Tutor 

Judi holds an MA with Distinction in Creative Writing and Personal Development from the University of Sussex, a First Class Honours degree in English and a Certificate in Arts Therapies. 

Judi’s first teaching role was at the University of Hertfordshire, where she taught the BA Hons course in Creative Writing from 2005 – 2011. She went on to found The Writing Space, in 2011, to encourage transformation through the production of dynamic writing  and the inter-play between writing for wellbeing and art. 

She is a member of The National Association for Writers in Education and Lapidus, the international words for wellbeing organisation promoting the literary arts in personal development. She holds public liability insurance and DBS clearance.

Coach

Judi offers individual coaching for writers and other creative people wishing to discover and fulfil their true potential.

She is an accredited Relational Dynamics coach and has successfully completed the Coaching Skills for Writers course run by NAWE (National Association for Writers in Education) and the Arvon Foundation, accredited by Performance Coach Training Ltd and RD1st Ltd.

Judi undergoes regular professional supervision.

Her interest in writing for personal development sparked a desire to work with a wide range of groups and individuals to achieve personal transformation.
